Application Process

All candidates MUST have an application on file with the Office of Catholic Schools PRIOR to contacting a principal and discussing a position. Exceptions to this are nurses and non-instructional staff (as listed below).

Step 1: Complete the online job application. The teacher application can be accessed here

Teachers currently employed in the ArchKCK looking for employment at another ArchKCK school must complete the online application AND notify their current principal that they are seeking other employment opportunities (per ArchKCK policy #4100).

Step 2: Submit a resume AND upload your teacher license. 

Step 3: After completing steps 1 and 2, reach out directly to the principals of those schools that either have a job opening or that you wish to work at. Let the principal know that you have submitted your application with the Office of Catholic Schools. It is encouraged to send your resume and a cover letter to the principal in your introductory email.

Note: Substitute teachers must be eligible for / have obtained an emergency substitute teaching license AND be Virtus (or equivalent) trained.

Professionals wishing to transition into a teaching career may complete a Transition to Teach program to obtain teacher licensure.

These programs are offered at universities across the country, including Benedictine College, Emporia State University, Fort Hays State University, Kansas State University, MidAmerica Nazarene University, Pittsburg University, and Wichita State University.

There may be opportunities to work within the schools while obtaining your teacher certification.

Nurses do not need to submit an online application UNLES they are only looking to serve as a substitute nurse. This application can be accessed here

All student teacher requests must go through Associate Superintendent, Allison Carney. 

Step 1: Students need to share their interest with their university student teacher supervisor.

Step 2: The student teacher supervisor should contact Allison Carney, Associate Superintendent. The Archdiocese has Memorandums of Understanding with several colleges. If a partnership does not yet exist, then conditions will be discussed.

Step 3: The student teacher will receive a letter from the Archdiocese, inviting them to complete the online registration form. 

Step 4: The teacher candidate will complete a background check.

Step 5: The teacher candidate will complete Virtus training and email your certificate to the School Office at alanham@archkckcs.org.

Other non-instructional staff refers to paraprofessionals, coaches, bus drivers, office staff, nurses, etc. No application is needed for these positions.
